Genesis Robinson is a political strategist and community organizer with over a decade of experience delivering results at the local, state, and federal levels of government. He serves as the Interim Executive Director of Equal Ground Education Fund and Action Fund, Florida’s preeminent Black-led voting rights organization.

 

He is an alumnus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) where he studied Political Science and Public Administration.

He began his professional career in the United States House of Representatives, where he served as a Legislative Assistant during the 113th and 114th Congress. Since then, he has held various positions throughout the state of Florida.

 

In 2018, while working in the Florida Legislature, Genesis assisted in the successful passage of legislation to select Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune as one of two people to represent the state of Florida in the National Statuary Hall Collection in the United States Capitol- a distinct honor which made her the first African American to represent any state in the country.

 

In 2021, Genesis joined Equal Ground where he managed and expanded their operation in Volusia County. His experience and talents were quickly noticed and he excelled in the position. Less than one year later, the organization created the position of Political Director and tapped Genesis to lead the division. In this role, he was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with elected officials, tracking legislation, and creating ways to educate Black Floridians about the legislative process. 

 

In addition to holding various positions in government and with Equal Ground, Genesis has managed and consulted on several local and state campaigns. 

 

He is married to a Volusia County educator and they reside in Daytona Beach with their two children.
